How It Works

Step One: Prepare your items

  • Please be sure that all clothing and other items are for Fall/Winter season only. Save your Spring and Summer items for our Spring sale.
  • Wash clothing and bedding.
  • Wipe down all toys, furniture, sporting goods, etc. We will not accept any items with dirt or dust on them. The better it looks the more likely
    it will sell.
  • Inspect all items for tears, holes, missing buttons, stains, obvious wear, missing parts, etc. If you find them, please remove the item from your inventory.
Step Two: Hang your items

  • All clothing must be hung on hangers. If a piece of clothing fits snuggly on the hanger you do not need to safety pin it further. If your clothing is likely to fall off the hanger you should pin it using safety pins.
  • You may use baby hangers, wire adult hangers or plastic adult hangers to hang your clothes.
  • All clothing must be hung so that when the clothes on the hanger are facing you the top of the hanger forms a question mark (?).
  • Please use safety pins to hang pants as pants can easily become detached from pants hangers (except for pants hangers that have the metal band that fit very snuggly)
Step Three: On-line item entry

  • Each item that you consign will be entered into your own on-line inventory. This will allow you to enter items all at once or a few a day, whatever you choose. You will also be able to track what sells at the end of each sale day.
  • To begin entering your items click on "on-line item entry" under Consignors info. This will take you to a page that says "Consignor Item Entry". Click on "work with my consigned items".You are now ready to enter your items.
  • Go to "categories", scroll down and choose the category your item fits in. For "size" you will also scroll down and choose the size of the item.
  • Under line one of the description you will put the brand name of the item, for example, "Gymboree". Under line two you will put the actual description of the item, for example, "yellow dress".
  • Next you will fill in the item price.A note on pricing your items.Price your items to sell. As a general rule consignment sale prices are around 25-30% of the retail price depending on the brand. Some popular items may sell for more. Please keep in mind what you would pay for the item when pricing it. The biggest mistake that consignors make is pricing their items too high. If you aren't sure of your pricing please email me and ask me to look over your prices after you have entered them into your inventory I will be glad to tell you if I think you are in the right range or not. NEW THIS SALE YOU MAY PRICE YOUR ITEMS IN 50 CENT INCREMENTS. All clothing must be at least $2.00 per item. You may combine items to create an outfit with one price tag. There is a quanity box if you have more then one of the same item you will indicate it here.
  • You will then see a box that says "donate". If you would like your items that do not sell to be donated to one of the charities that we support please check this box. If you would like to pick up your item please do not check this box.
  • On the last day of the sale we will discount items that are marked "discount" by 50%. If you would like your item discounted to 50% on the last day then you will check this box. If you do not want your item discounted then do not check this box. PLEASE CONSIDER PRICING YOUR ITEMS FOR DICSOUNT. I can't tell you how many consignors tell me at the end of the sale that they wish they had priced their items for discount on the last day.
Step Four: Tag Printing

  • Once you have entered all of your items you are ready to print your tags. You will need to print your tags on card stock in order to keep the tags from tearing off during the sale. NEW THIS SALE. YOU MUST USE WHITE CARDSTOCK ONLY(NO OTHER COLORS INCLUDING OFF WHITE). The scanner has trouble reading colored paper and it causes back ups at drop off and check-out. Regular copy paper is too thin. The tags will print six to a page.
Step Five: Tagging Your items
  • You may use safety pins to attach your tags to your items. Please do not use stright pins or staples when attaching tags.
    • Clothing and Shoes- Attach product tag with a safety pin on the right upper part of the clothing when it is facing you.
    • Be sure to attach it in a place that will not harm the fabric.
    • Shoes must be held together either using a safety pin or zip ties(you can find zip ties at Home Depot and Lowes). This prevents the shoes from getting seperated. If you are unable to use a safety pin or zip ties you may use a large ziploc bag. When attaching the tags to shoes use large safety pins. You may also use masking tape to put your consignor number on the bottom of the shoe in case the tag gets torn off.
    • Toys - Use clear packing tape to secure price tags to toys. Be sure to include batteries with toys. Secure all loose parts in plastic zip-lock type bags and tape securely. If you have directions or manuals tape securely to toys. If balls come with a toy be sure to tape them so they can't be removed or secure them in a bag and tape to the toy.
    • Baby Equipment - It will help your baby equipment sell if you have the manuals attached to the equipment. If you do not have the manuals you can download most on the internet and print them out. When cleaning your baby equipment be sure to look at it from all angles to make sure you get all the baby "goo" that gets in cracks and crevices. If you have equipment with multiple parts you may print out the tag for the main piece and then hand write tags with your consignor number and "part 2 of 5" etc. and attach them to the other parts.
    • Strollers, Bouncy Seats, etc- Use safety pins to attach the price tag or attach it with our tagging gun at drop off.
    • Linens - Please place all bedding sets in their original plastic zippered bedding bag(if they had one) or you can purchase the new giant zippered bags from Zip-loc. You may also hang them on hangers. Be sure to pin them to the hangers to secure them. For linens that are not part of a set you may hang them or put them in large zip-locs. If you are selling a bedroom set, i.e.bedding, lamp, artwork, bringing in a picture of it all set up either that you take or from a catalog where you purcased it or found on-line really helps sell it to the shopper. You can tape the picture to each item or cheaply frame it in a plastic frame and put it in front of your items.
    • Books - We accept all pregnancy, parenting and childrens books. Tape the price tag to the back of the book using scotch tape. PLEASE TAPE YOUR TAG SO THAT IT COMPLETELY COVERS THE ORIGINAL BAR CODE FOR YOUR BOOKS. OUR SCANNER WILL DETECT THE ORIGINAL BAR CODE AND CAUSES ERROR MESSAGES AND BACK UPS AT CHECK-OUT. Packing tape will possibly tear the paper on the book. For cloth books use a safety pin to attach the price tag.

Step Six: Sort and Drop Off

    • Now that you have completed tagging you are ready to schedule your drop off appointment. If one of the times available does not work with your schedule, please email us and we will work to schedule a time for you. Go to the menu to the left and click on schedule drop off appt. On drop off day please bring your items already sorted by size and gender. We will ask you to put your clothing on the appropriate size rack after we scan your items. This will speed up check-in.

      Step Seven: Pick-up

      • Items that you have that don't sell and you are not donating must be picked up at the end of the sale. This sale everything will be pre-sorted before you arrive for pick up. If you do not pick up your items or designate someone else to pick them up for you they will be donated to one of the charities that we support. The pick up time will be announced as the sale gets closer.
